Asparagus plants in addition to good to eat, it is also nutritious for health. Asparagus has a protein called histones are believed to be active in controlling cell growth or cancer prophylactic.
U.S. National Cancer Institute also reported that asparagus is the food that tested contain high glutathione, an antioxidant that is considered one of the most active and powerful in the fight against aging and ward off cancer.
Glutathione is a small protein consisting of three amino acids: cysteine​​, glutamic acid, and glycine. Glutathione is involved in detoxification. It binds toxins are fat soluble, such as heavy metals, solvents, and pesticides. Therefore glutathione provide protection from certain types of cancer.
This plant has proved very helpful in curing various types of cancer such as Hodgkin’s disease which is a type of lymph gland cancer, bladder cancer, lung cancer and skin cancer.
Also a plus asparagus is in its content which does not contain fat, cholesterol, and low in sodium. Asparagus also contains a high folic acid and a source of potassium, fiber, vitamin B6, vitamin A and C, and thiamin good.
